05 Nov 10

Supporters and volunteers from well know cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support, gathered at Mallory Court Hotel in Harbury for the first ever Macmillan Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire Awards Ceremony.

The award winning country house hotel and restaurant, who support Macmillan in their fundraising efforts, put on a complimentary night of glitz and glamour for hard working volunteers and Macmillan health professionals to celebrate the fantastic work they do for cancer patients.

Tara Robinson, Group Sales and Marketing Manager for The Eden Hotel Collection to which Mallory Court belongs, said

“We are very proud to be able to support Macmillan and are delighted that we have been able to help host their fantastic awards ceremony here at Mallory – we greatly admire the work that they do’.

Awards such as ‘Fundraising Achievement’ and the prestigious ‘Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire’ went to deserving volunteers for the long standing work they do for the charity, resulting in hundreds of thousands of pounds being raised each year in order to shape the future of cancer care. Awards were presented by local radio presenters Ben Day from TouchFM and Tim Boswell from BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

Karen Shortt, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan, commented,

‘It was a wonderful evening and a perfect opportunity to thank so many of our supporters within the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Mallory Court was the perfect setting for the event and we would like to thank them for their continuous support over the years and look forward to working with them again over the coming months’.
