Start planning your visit to Shakespeare’s England in 2016 to celebrate 400 years of William Shakespeare’s legacy.
2016 commemorates 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare and this special anniversary year is a truly unique opportunity to visit his hometown Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding areas. With The Arden Hotel as your base, located just opposite the RSC in the heart of Stratford, you can see one of his shows performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatres, tour his birthplace and visit his grave at Holy Trinity Church or simply walk in the footsteps of the worlds’ greatest playwright and explore the place he called home.
In 2016 Shakespeare’s England will host a range of new exhibitions to celebrate his legacy. These include a new immersive theatrical experience at the Royal Shakespeare Company; a reimagining of Shakespeare’s final home, New Place, by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust; and Shakespeare’s school room will also open for the first time to the general public at King Edward VI School.
