Sarah, a Chelsea Gold Medal winner and owner of Sarah Horne Botanicals in Leamington Spa, has created hand-drawn designs that take inspiration from the magnolia trees that frame the borders of Mallory Court’s grounds. The hotel, crowned Best Large Hotel at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025, is now home to her elegant fine bone china pieces crafted exclusively for our bedrooms.

Botanical Artistry Rooted in Tradition

The new collection reflects the refinement and timeless style that define Mallory Court. Each piece showcases black and white botanical illustrations with a subtle pink accent that softens and elevates the design. An MC inscription is thoughtfully placed at the base of each item and inside the mugs and bowls, creating a gentle nod to the hotel’s heritage.

Drawing on Victorian botanical art, Sarah’s illustrations bring a sense of place to every piece, ensuring that guests enjoy a touch of Mallory Court’s gardens from the comfort of their rooms.

Crafted in Stoke-on-Trent with Exceptional Care

Every item in the collection is handcrafted in small batches in Stoke-on-Trent, the historic home of British ceramics. Working closely with Sarah, each design is screen-printed by hand to ensure the finer details of her artwork are captured with precision.

Sarah described the collaboration as a dream and spoke warmly of seeing her designs take shape from sketchbook to kiln. Guests have already begun requesting pieces to take home, a testament to the beauty and originality of the collection.

Elevating the Guest Experience at Mallory Court

Josefine Blomqvist, General Manager of Mallory Court Hotel, shared her praise for the partnership and for Sarah’s artistic vision. Having worked together previously at The Arden Hotel, the team knew her creative sensitivity would complement Mallory Court’s refined atmosphere.

Championing local artisans is central to the hotel’s commitment to celebrating craftsmanship and community. Sarah’s bespoke designs now enrich the guest experience, offering an elegant finishing touch that reflects the character and charm of our country house hotel.
