We had a chat with Bryony-Jayne so you could get to know her a little better. Keep reading to find out more…

How long have you been at Mallory Court?

Nearly 15 wonderful years!

How did you get into the industry?

What seems like a hundred years ago now, I started my hotel life aged 14 doing a week-long work experience at a family run hotel in my childhood hometown of Leicestershire. Two weeks later I was serving top table at their wedding breakfast – No pressure! Back then in the olden days, the main courses were all silver served!

Why are you so passionate about weddings?

I adore every part of the wedding process. From the initial meeting with the couple, the planning stages and even the tears – which I always try to turn into tears of laughter! The sense of achievement and watching the wedding day play out is the best feeling in the world.

I learnt from the best… You know who you are! (Tara Robinson, our Sales and Marketing Director at Eden Hotel Collection) which gave me the confidence and inspirations to follow in her footsteps.

What have you missed most about Weddings during the pandemic?

The face-to-face meetings with my couples. I’m a true people person, telephone conversation gets the details required but nothing quite like a sit-down conversation & catch up.

What are you most looking forward to?

A hug from my couples! Many of my past couples have become lifelong friends.

Most unusual supplier or idea at a wedding?

The strangest request I’ve ever had is when a bride asked if her friend who is an aerial acrobat could use her aerial silks and perform from our glass Atrium roof… I don’t often say no but that was a no go!

Favourite time of the year to host a Wedding at Mallory Court?

Winter. Mallory is stunning all year round, but winter is my favourite season because Mallory becomes a magical place once we’ve dressed for Christmas.

Most memorable moment as a guest at a wedding?

A strange one for me – Being the other side of a wedding and leading the bridal party down the aisle for my baby brother and sister in laws wedding day. A busman’s holiday for me, 3 roles rolled into one… Chief bridesmaid, wedding planner but most importantly being a big sister. I’m not too sure the venues wedding co-ordinator was my biggest fan!

3 top tips once you are engaged?

  1. Treat yourself to a manicure before the ring photos goes on social media
  2. Take a deep breath and together decide what you want from YOUR wedding day without all the opinions of family and friends – they mean well but IT’S YOUR DAY
  3. Set your date

Quickfire Questions …

Wedding Cake or Cake of Cheese?

Cheese

Disco or live band?

Live band! If I could have my wedding day all over again Detroit Soul would be leading me onto the dancefloor!

Buffet or cheese Board?

Neither, I’d have street food boxes.

Prosecco or Champagne?

English sparkling wine, there are a number of amazing English Vineyard’s! Gusbourne is my personal favourite!

On your midnight bacon buttie – red or brown sauce?

Controversial…. But English mustard & ketchup, it has to be granary bread.
