How long have you been at Mallory Court?
Nearly 3 years.
How did you get into the industry?
I came into the industry at 16 years old as a “Saturday girl” in a Hair and Beauty Salon. I’ve always had an interest in the beauty industry from a young age.
Why are you so passionate about spa?
I love all aspects of the industry and the wellbeing factor is a huge part for me. It goes hand in hand with the leisure industry, which is another area of interest of mine and something I have knowledge of.
Most challenging aspect about your role?
Finding 5-star therapists and team members is near impossible. This is why our Elan Spa Academy is vital and growing our own therapists from within the team, with development and the right plan is key. I like to know everyone’s future plans, dreams and aspirations. It’s key in their development.
What have you missed most about spa during the pandemic?
The people, our lovely members and my fab team.
What are you most looking forward to?
Getting back open to full capacity and really watching the spa grow. With the spa only being 4 years old and then having the pandemic on top, we were only just starting to really show our capability.
Most unique spa visited abroad?
I’ve been lucky to have lots of spa visits all over the world. Working on a cruise ship showed me 7-star spas and I feel very lucky to have had that opportunity. But my favourite has to be in the Maldives on my honeymoon. The whole spa had a glass floor, it was breath-taking.
Favourite time of the year to visit a spa?
I have to say the winter time. Something quite lovely about being outside in a vitality pool with white snow around you. I like the idea of being all cosy in your robe in the warm spa environment whilst it’s cold outside.
What are your 3 top tips for a spa day
1) Put your phone down and fully unwind
2) Take wet swimwear off and pop dry underwear on for your treatment. Much more comfortable and warmer
3) Drink lots of water and a little fizz of course!
Quickfire Questions …
Favourite treatment to receive?
Has to be a massage for me. My favourite one at Mallory is the Kundlini Massage, it’s the best treatment to really send me in to a deep relaxation and fully unwind. But I do love a deep tissue for all my knots and aches and pains.
Favourite treatment to do?
When I worked on cruise ships, I was a skin specialist, so I do love facials and the skin. However, I love massages and nails.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love being with my husband and two young children. But if I ever get a window, you’ll find me running. I love running and I’m currently training for my second London Marathon.
